Key Responsibilities: |
Supervise the Site Maintenance department which runs 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Line Manage team of Maintenance Engineers. Provide operations with a service which in turn provides customers with 100% service. Train and develop staff to sufficient skill level. Maintain and manage supply of spares. Maintain and deliver preventative maintenance and responding to breakdowns. As part of the operations team, manage the day to day business function. Any other role as deemed appropriate by the Company. Develop a team who proactively engage production associates to foster continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:
|
To manage and lead a team of Associates on a production line ensuring a positive culture is maintained.
To ensure that all production lines run with a maximum efficiency and interruptions are dealt with a minimum impact for the customer through 24 hour phone coverage and attendance on site if needed.
To ensure that all paperwork is completed to meet legal requirements and that relevant systems are maintained, including, Traceability, Health and Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, ERP.
To ensure that all Associates receive the appropriate training to enable a balanced and multi-skilled workforce to effectively meet hourly production schedules.
To complete appropriate areas of Performance Management to include, Appraisals (6 monthly)
To track and monitor wastage, production volumes and staffing levels, etc.
To complete daily, hourly and weekly communication to provide progress checks and production changes, when necessary
To actively identify improvement opportunities and efficiencies and implement these changes.
Any other duties that the Company deem suitable as necessary

Implement and drive the Factory training plan to ensure all Associates receive the appropriate training.
To be responsible for the completion of daily / weekly factory KPI reporting into Manufacturing Manager. To include, Management of wastage, production volumes, absence etc
To lead daily shift factory briefings to Productions teams.
To attend daily Operations meeting and provide updates to support team as necessary.
To be accountable for ensuring that sufficient staffing levels are available to meet production requirements, to include holiday planning, agency staff and sickness cover within cost constraints.
To support the Manufacturing Manager on implementation of projects.
To represent the Company during all Customer visits ensuring they are proactively organized and conducted professionally.
Drive and encourage an engaged workforce
Manage the recruitment of Operatives to ensure fair practice and legal compliance
Conduct disciplinary and grievance meetings up to 1st written warning in conjunction with HR.
Conduct disciplinary appeals against verbal warning in conjunction with HR.
Carry out GMC investigations in conjunction with HR.
Manage sickness and absence ensuring that RTWI’s are carried on 1st day back from absence to ensure overall absence does not exceed target.

Key Responsibilities
Health and Safety Policies
· To raise the profile of health and safety to the Management Team on the implications of current and emerging health, safety and welfare legislation, including evaluating options, making recommendations and generating action plans to ensure legal compliance across the UK
· Timely implement new policies and procedures to meet legal compliance
· To monitor, evaluate and review the Company’s Health and Safety Policy to ensure this is accurately maintained and implemented consistently across the UK
· Seek best practice by working cross functionally with other markets throughout the global business (One Rich)
· To work with managers to ensure risk assessments are prepared, reviewed and updated as necessary
· Support managers across all UK sites to maintain safe systems of work and implement best practice, providing specialist advice, coaching and practical support as needed, such as accident reporting and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
· Accountable for the fire policy and procedures across all UK sites to ensure fire testing and procedures are adhered to. Share and review learning’s
· To carry out daily audits at Fareham, weekly at Hartlebury and Portchester to evaluate the effectiveness of Health and Safety systems and procedures. Identify and implement actions/improvements
· To consult associates on Health and Safety issues by supporting and developing the role of the Company’s Health and Safety Committee/representatives, to include arranging and facilitate meetings with senior management attendance
· Ensure all construction projects on all sites have the relevant documentation to meet legal compliance
· Ensure all contractor’s on all sites have the relevant documentation to meet legal compliance
· Ensure adequate provision of first aid cover, first-aid facilities and equipment at all sites
· To ensure routine health and safety activities and checks are carried out at all sites, e.g. testing of portable electrical appliances
· Control and manage all PPE to ensure all associates and agency have the relevant PPE to form their duties across all sites
· To support technical and sales with a comprehensive environmental policy
· Co-ordinate and manage any HSE visits, follow up any issues raised and action
· Manage the drug and alcohol policy to include overall responsibility of testing
Health and Safety plan
· To contribute and lead the development and delivery of the Health and Safety annual business plan
· To implement and evaluate a Health and Safety Action Plan for the UK.
Accident investigation and reporting
· Investigate all incidents and accidents across the UK, take relevant action within 24 hours and share learning’s
· Timely report any accidents/issues to HSE were relevant
· Attend daily meetings and be part of a cross functional problem solution orientated team
· Collate and report all accident information across the UK - prepare monthly reports for the senior team and WHQ
· Set, monitor and manage the H&S budget
Health and Safety training
· To arrange and manage a comprehensive training programme to cover all areas of Health & Safety and mandatory training to include FLT, & manual handling.
· To develop and deliver training sessions and health and safety induction for new starters, people managers and H&S representatives
Health and Wellbeing
· Manage and co-ordinate Occupational health for the UK to include home visits
· Identify potential impact of workplace stress and identify gaps and action plans to address
· To co-ordinate any testing/monitoring of the environment that is needed e.g. noise, dust
Experience and Education
· Expertise of Health and Safety within the specialism of Health and Safety acquired over a significant period of time
· NEBOSH Diploma Qualified
· Educated to Degree level or equivalent
